Frequently Asked Questions What do I get for taking this test? You will get a commercial pilot certificate with airplane multiengine land (limited to center thrust if you flew the T-38). Also, you will get an instrument rating. The instrument rating is not restricted to multiengine aircraft… it is good for multiengine and single engine aircraft, both land and sea.How long does it take to study for the test? It takes most people around 2 hours to review for the test. Taking the test itself takes roughly 20 minutes, though the FAA allows you 2 hours. Do I need a medical certificate to take the test and get my commercial pilot certificate? No, you don't need a medical certificate to take this or any other FAA test. But you will need to get a current medical when you go to exercise the privileges of your new certificate. Do I have to wait until I graduate from UPT to take the test? No, you are legal to take the test anytime, but you have to wait until after graduation to turn in the paperwork to the FAA. What kind of computer do I need to use your study software? You'll need a Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP PC. |
